Saudi Arabia has reportedly executed as many as 12 people in the last 10 days.
The executed individuals, as per an India Today report, comprised 3 Pakistanis, 4 Syrians, 2 Jordanians and 3 Saudis. Some of the beheadings allegedly involved the use of sword.
The Islamic nation, as per multiple reports, handed death sentence to prisoners booked for drug-related crimes after nearly a two-year hiatus.
As of March this year, the country executed as many as 81 people on charges of various crimes including association with militant groups, killings.
The said beheadings were reportedly dubbed as kingdom's largest mass execution in the modern history.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in 2018 in an attempt to minimise capital punishement had announced that only those convicted of murder or manslaughter will be subject to execution.
