A massive second 7.5 magnitude earthquake hit Turkey on Monday afternoon, according to the US Geological Survey. The second quake came hours after an earlier quake claimed over 1300 lives in the region.
The shallow quake hit at 1:24 pm (1024 GMT) four kilometres (2.5 miles) south-southeast of the town of Ekinozu.
Following the massive natural disaster, a level 4 alert has been declared in Turkey, urging other countries to send in aid. India has decided to send NDRF teams and sniffer dogs as aid to help in rescue and search operations. The decision was made at a high-level meeting at the PMO.
