A fresh mass shooting took place in the United States of America. This time, a man with a rifle opened fire in the food court of a mall in Indiana's Greenwood on 17 July.
The shooter was shot and killed by an armed civilian, as per police. Four people, including the attacker, were killed and two were injured in the incident.
The shooter was armed with a rifle and several magazines, and police reached the mall around 6 pm after reports of gunfire. A suspicious backpack was also recovered from a bathroom near the food court.
Greenwood is a south suburb of Indianapolis with a population of about 60,000.

The latest incident comes just days after an Independence Day parade on 4 July turned bloody in Chicago. At least 7 people were killed and over 30 injured in the shooting.
Earlier, mass shootings at a school in Uvalde, Texas, and a supermarket in New York had shocked the nation, leading to a fresh debate on gun laws.
