A Sikh man from Uttar Pradesh was shot dead on February 23 outside a gurudwara in Alabama, US by armed miscreants.

Raj Singh alias Goldy, was a musician and a resident of Tanda Sahuwala village in Uttar Pradesh's Bijnor district. He had been residing in the US for more than a year with a group of musicians.

On the day of the incident, he had visited the gurudwara to perform kirtan.

He was shot dead by unidentified assailants when he exited the gurudwara.

Goldy, the eldest child of his parents, was the only breadwinner of his family after his father died five years ago. Rest of his family, his mother, two sisters, and a brother, have urged the government of India to make arrangements to bring his body back home.
