Elon Musk's company SpaceX launched a classified payload into space on April 17. A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket was used to put a National Reconnaissance Office consignment into orbit.
The payload was a US spy satellite, according to a CNN report. The rocket was launched from the Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. The rocket launched on April 17 had also been used in February for another NRO payload, as per reports.
SpaceX developed Falcon 9 as a re-usable rocket to make space missions cheaper. For Sunday's mission, the first stage booster of the Falcon 9 returned and landed successfully at the Space Force Base's Landing Zone 4.
