While India's ₹2,000 note has been withdrawn, Argentina has introduced a new 2,000-peso note.

The South American country has put the new bill into circulation while it battles extremely high inflation. However, the new 2,000-peso note is worth only around 8 US dollars, as per reports.

Earlier, the highest currency bill in Argentina was 1,000 pesos.

Football legend Lionel Messi's country of birth experienced an annual inflation rate of 109% in April.
