The US National Centers for Environmental Prediction says this week saw the effect of climate change with the hottest global temperature ever recorded.
The average global air temperature on July 4 reached 17.18C degrees Celsius, surpassing the 17.01C recorded on July 5.
The last hottest day on record was in 2016, during the El Niño global weather event when the global average temperature reached 16.92C.
Experts have warned that this record can be broken multiple times this year.
