US commission wants Indian govt agencies to be penalised. Watch why

In what could spark a diplomatic tussle between India and America, a federal US commission has recommended to the Joe Biden government that sanctions be imposed on Indian government agencies and officials.

The US Commission for International Religious Freedom has accused Indian agencies of "severe violations" of religious freedom.

The recommendations of USCIRF are not mandatory for the government, and similar requests since 2020 have been ignored by the White House.
