The US might have fired missiles costing a whopping amount of 439,000 $ to down a 12$ pico balloon. The mystery of suspected UFOs flying over US soil was cleared by amateur balloon enthusiasts in Illinois, who claimed that one of their pico balloons which contain trackers and solar panels and antenna packages went missing over Alaska on February 11.

This was the day, a US fighter jet shot down an unidentified airborne object, India Today reported.

After shooting down an alleged Chinese spy balloon, the US military shot down three more objects which reports consider were pico balloons costing just 12$.

If the reports are true these cheap balloons cost the US 439, 000$ to shoot down each balloon.
