Anticipating Iranian attacks, the US has sounded alert and is actively preparing for significant attacks that can happen within the next week by targeting Israeli or American assets in the region in response to Israel’s strike on the Iranian embassy in Syria.

CNN has reported that senior US officials and their Israeli counterparts believe that an attack by Iran is inevitable.

“We’re definitely at a high state of vigilance,” the official said in confirming a CNN report that said an attack could come in the next week.

The possible Iranian attacks were also discussed between President Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a phone call on April 4.

Tehran had earlier vowed retaliation after Israeli airstrikes in Damascus killed 13 people.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has said that seven Iranian military advisers died in the strike, including Mohammad Reza Zahedi, a senior commander in its Quds Force, which is an elite foreign espionage and paramilitary arm.

Iran has said it reserves the right “to take a decisive response.”

According to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, seven Iranian military advisers died in the strike, including Mohammad Reza Zahedi, a senior commander in its Quds Force, which is an elite foreign espionage and paramilitary arm.

Iran has said it reserves the right “to take a decisive response.”

The deputy chief of staff of the Iranian president, Mohammad Jamshidi, said on X Friday that “in a written message, the Islamic Republic of Iran warns US leadership not to get dragged in Netanyahu’s trap for US: Stay away so you won’t get hurt.” He added that in response, the US asked Iran not to target American facilities.

Israel has carried out hundreds of strikes targeting pro-Iran groups fighting alongside the forces of President Bashar al-Assad in the country's 13-year civil war.

The United States has carried out fewer strikes in eastern Syria against pro-Iran groups, which it blames for a flurry of attacks on US interests in Iraq and Syria during the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza.
