Thirteen people were taken to hospitals after an explosion at a metal factory near Oakwood, Ohio, according to Captain Brian DiRocco with the Oakwood Village Fire Department.
The explosion and fire occurred around 3 p.m. Monday and left debris scattered around the area, DiRocco said.
Several fire departments responded to a large fire at the scene and one person was confirmed dead at the scene.
The cause of the fire is still undetermined according to DiRocco. “The interior of the building, it’s pretty catastrophic, like right now, we were working this morning with a structural engineer to see where it was safe for us to conduct our investigation. They gave us some parameters on where we could and couldn’t go within the building but the damage is pretty extensive. “ he said.
