An 82-year-old woman was found alive at a funeral centre, hours after being declared dead by a New York nursing home, The Guardian reported.
Police said the woman was pronounced dead by Water’s Edge Rehab and Nursing Center in Port Jefferson at about 11.15 am on February 5. She was subsequently taken to OB Davis Funeral Homes at 1.30 pm but was discovered breathing at about 2.09 pm.
The woman was reportedly hospitalized again, though update on her condition is not available yet, The Guardian added.
The apparent premature death declaration in the US is the second this year. In a silimar case on January 3, a 66-year-old woman was declared dead only to be found alive later. She later died on January 5.
