A major drama unfolding for almost two weeks in America culminated on May 9. On April 29, a murder suspect was helped in escaping an Alabama prison by a former jail official.
Thus began an 11-day manhunt for Casey White, the inmate, and Vicky White, the former Alabama corrections officer. The two were not related.
A day after they were caught after a dramatic car chase, Vicky White died due to self-inflicted gunshot wounds, as per police.

The car chase in Evansville, Indiana began after Vicky White was spotted wearing a wig and leaving a hotel. Police chased the duo and a marshal rammed his car into the couple's vehicle, after which they surrendered.
When Casey White was being taken into custody, he told police that his "wife" had shot herself and needed help.
Casey White is accused of murdering 58-year-old Connie Ridgeway. He allegedly stabbed her to death. White had been sentenced to a cumulative 75 years in prison for a series of violent crimes in 2015, including burglary, vehicle theft and a police chase.
