In a startling incident of lawlessness in the United States of America, dozens of teenagers allegedly broke into an empty house in Austin, Texas while the homeowners were away for the weekend.

They allegedly trashed the house, and caused damage worth thousands of dollars. The illegal party was even promoted on social networking app Snapchat as a "mansion rager".

When teenage party-goers started trespassing into the property and damaging the house, the homeowner was called by his neighbours. When he arrived, he claimed to have found the front gate broken, television set smashed, liquor bottles and cans strewn around, and tools thrown through the sheetrock in the garage. Toys belonging to the owner's daughter were scattered all over the property.

The Travis County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident.
