As heavy rains continue to pound Norway triggering floods and landslides, a mobile house was seen floating in floodwater and eventually crashing into a bridge. Large crowds were spectators to the unusual sight in the town of Hemsedal.
The extreme weather has been attributed to Storm Hans, which has poured rain over Scandinavia and the Baltics. While it is unclear if anyone was injured in the incident, at least one death in Norway has been tied to the storm.
Meanwhile, a dam in southern Norway partially bursted on August 9 due to overflowing triggering evacuation.
More than 600 people were evacuated in a region north of Oslo, and police in southern Norway reported that the situation there was “unclear and chaotic,” Associated Press reported.
All main roads between Oslo and Trondheim, Norway’s third-largest city, were closed, according to the Norwegian Public Roads Administration.
Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store warned that flooding would continue to be a threat as excess water flows downstream. "It could be the highest water level in 50 years or more,” he said.
