A car accelerated into a group of protesters in Tel Aviv on Saturday evening, knocking some to the ground.
The Ichilov Medical Center said five people were injured in the incident, one moderately.
Israeli police said the driver was arrested and was questioned overnight.
The police said they requested that an Israeli court extend his arrest period, as they continued investigating the incident.
Thousands of Israelis gathered in Tel Aviv on Saturday night, calling on the government to reach a deal to free dozens of hostages held by Hamas.
The protesters also called for early elections.
Nearly six months of protracted fighting in the Israeli-Hamas war, along with the government’s inability to release the dozens of hostages in Gaza, have exposed renewed divisions in Israeli society.
