Three passengers suffered serious burns after they tried to pass through an area hit by a fierce wildfire in Spain's Castellon region, Spanish media reported on Tuesday.
The service from Valencia to Miraflores was forced to stop and evacuate the passengers as the train tracks ran close to the towering flames.
Media reports said three people were taken to hospital due to their injuries, while a dozen more were less seriously hurt.
Spanish state-owned railways company Adif tweeted passengers had been taken to the nearby village of Caudiel before being transferred to their destinations.
The Bejis wildfire was one of three blazes being tackled by fire crews across Spain's east coast on Tuesday as much of Europe continues to feel the impact of an exceptionally hot and dry summer.
