Another wildfire has brought chaos to central California - and in quick time.
1600 acres or about 6.5 million square metres of forestry was destroyed within a few hours of the oak fire on Friday near the community of Midpines in Mariposa County.
The blaze has prompted evacuations and road closures and has now reached the Sierra National Forest.

A local television station reported that emergency crews had received reports of people trapped inside their homes, and firefighters rushed to rescue them.

Located north of Fresno, this is the third wildfire in Mariposa County in just two weeks.
