A day after dropping out of the 2024 US presidential race, Vivek Ramaswamy attended a rally with Donald Trump in New Hampshire, where the supporters of the former president greeted him with "VP" chants.
After the GOP leader concluded his speech endorsing Trump for president, the 77-year-old Republican leader on Tuesday said, "He's going to be working with us for a long time."
The 77-year-old presidential hopeful praised the 38-year-old firebrand leader calling him a "friend" and a "true leader".
“Last night I was truly honoured to welcome the endorsement of the man who has become a true leader and earned the admiration of so many patriots. I have been his friend even though we were competing against each other,” Trump said as he welcomed the entrepreneur on stage.
When Ramaswamy left the stage and shook hands with Trump after delivering an impassioned speech, the crowd broke into chants of "VP, VP", backing him for a possible deputy post in the White House alongside Trump.
"Pretty good, isn't it?" Trump responded soon afterward.
"He is a fantastic guy, and he really got something that is very special. He is going to be working with us, and he will be working with us for a long time," the former US president said.
Earlier in the day, Ramaswamy said, "This man is going to be the next President to revive them. E pluribus unum, from many, one [Motto of US]."
“Going forward he will have my full endorsement for the presidency, and I think we're gonna do the right thing for this country. There is not a better choice left in this race than this man right here. And that is why I am asking you to do the right thing as New Hampshire and to vote for Donald J. Trump as your next president,” an earnest Ramaswamy implored the crowd.
