Govts form short-term plans, 5-year plans, call top economists, take loans among several things to fix the failing economy of their countries but a Pakistan minister has a very simple solution - drink less tea.

Pakistan's Federal  Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal has urged people to cut down the consumption of tea by 1-2 cups in order to save the nation's economy.

Why does he think a cup of the beverage can go a long way in fixing the economy?

According to Iqbal, Pakistan is one of the biggest importers of tea and has to taken loans to buy it.

As per reports, Pakistan spent $400mn to import in 2021-22 financial year.

But Pakistani netizens weren't amused by the suggestion leading to the minister being trolled.
