Infrared video released by the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) shows alleged infiltration attempts into Israel by at least two Hamas militants by sea into the Zikim area on Tuesday.
The Israeli military said it thwarted an assault by a group of Hamas divers who tried to enter Israel on a beach just north of Gaza.
They were attacked by air, naval and ground forces.
According to the report issued by the IDF, the militants exited through a tunnel shaft located on the coast of the Gaza Strip.
In addition, the Israeli military said its jets and naval soldiers struck a weapons storage facility that was used by Hamas.
The war, in its 19th day Wednesday, is the deadliest of five Gaza wars for both sides. According to the Hamas-run Health Ministry more than 6,500 Palestinians have been killed, including at least 704 in the past day, and 16,297 wounded.
The figure includes the disputed toll from an explosion at a hospital last week.
The Associated Press couldn't independently verify the death tolls cited by Hamas, which says it tallies figures from hospital directors.
More than 1,400 people in Israel have been killed, according to Israeli officials, mostly civilians who died in the initial Hamas rampage. Israel's military on Wednesday raised the number of remaining hostages in Gaza to 222 people, including foreigners believed captured by Hamas during the incursion. Four hostages have been released.
