A disturbing video has emerged from an American school. In the video spreading widely on social media, an Indian-American teenager is seen getting assaulted by an American student. Twitter users suggested that the name of the victim was Shaan Pritmani.
In the video, the assailant is seen abusing and asking Shaan to vacate the seat he is occupying. Shaan refuses, and the assailant proceeds to first press his elbow on Shaan's neck, and then choke him. Then the bully drags Shaan off the seat and onto the ground. He then tries to keep the victim sprawled on the floor.
Coppell Middle School North issued a statement, saying, "Bullying, both verbal and physical, as well as physical acts of aggression are never acceptable and do not align with who we are at CISD and our core values."
However, news reports suggested that Shaan had been suspended for 3 days as punishment, while his assailant was only suspended for one day. Shaan's parents were reportedly considering legal action, while waiting for the school investigation to conclude.
