An extremely bright meteorite lit up southern parts of Norway on the weekend. It was a part of the passing northern Taurids.
The Norwegian Meteor Network reported the event as taking place at 19:08 local time on Saturday.
The bolide - a term used to describe an exceptionally bright meteor - had regional police receive reports by concerned members of the public over the sighting.
Agder police tweeted a message to reassure citizens that the Norwegian Meteor Network had confirmed the bright light belonged to a meteor shower.
Experts said the bolide had completely burned up in the atmosphere at 65 kilometres (40 miles) above sea level.
