Pager explosions targeted at Hezbollah killed 9 and injured 2,750 in Lebanon. Debate over company that made pagers -- tampered with by Israeli intelligence. Make and model of device threw suspicion first on US-based Motorola. Later, pictures emerged with Gold Apollo branding on back of exploded pagers. Lebanese security source told Reuters that Hezbollah ordered 5,000 pagers from Gold Apollo. Taiwan-based Gold Apollo founder denied allegations they made faulty pagers. Gold Apollo said pagers used in explosion were made by a European company. European company had licence to manufacture under Gold Apollo's brand.
