Have you ever entered your room and forgotten what you had come for? Well, we all witness this at some time, and it's absolutely normal. But when you are giving a tribute speech and forget who died, just admit that you are Joe Biden.
The US is all set to witness its 60th quadrennial presidential election in November and Joe Biden is relentlessly getting calls to step down from the race after his disastrous 90-minute debate with Donald Trump on the 27th of June. Biden was seen struggling for words, gazing at the crowd for long.
But, is it Biden's forgettable performance that had many Americans, including his supporters, concerned? Well, apparently no.
The 81-year-old has been known for his gaffes for as long as one could recall.
In 2010, at a St Patrick’s Day reception for Ireland's then-prime minister Brian Cowen, "His mom lived in Long Island for 10 years or so, God rest her soul." Until he realised it was Cowen's father who passed away, not his mother.
So, along with his alleged dementia, Biden's physical health is the actual stimulus that is raising doubts for his capability to govern a country known as the superpower in the world.
Other than seasonal allergies, Biden sufferers with osteoarthritis, which is worsening every passing day. During the G7 summit held by Italy, Biden was seen dragging his leg while walking.
He also 'horrified' netizens after a video of him wandering off while a group photo at the summit surfaced on the internet.
'Only the Lord Almighty could convince me to quit the race,' said Biden in an interview with ABC News on July 5.
Even after constant calls from donors to step down, Biden firmly believes that he is capable to run for the election. His family and senior Democrats are supporting him to the core.
Regardless of the noise surrounding his campaign, one thing is certain. If Biden decides to stay for the race, the Americans would have an old man leading the country. Because it’s not just Biden in the race who is 'too old to be president'.
