World Photography Day 2021: While we cannot relive a memory, we can always capture it through a lens and make it last for a lifetime. The invention of photography has helped capture and mimic lives, landscapes and even emotions. Thanks to the advent of smartphones, it has become easier to capture and frame moments every second.
Celebrated worldwide on 19th August, World Photography Day is when people come together to acknowledge the science, history, art and craft of photography. The idea is to also encourage people to take up photography and appreciate each other's skills.
The day originates from the invention of the Daguerreotype, the first commercially successful photographic process. Invented by Louis Daguerre and Joseph Nicephore Niepce, Daguerreotype is an accurate and detailed image on a silvered copper plate.
Since then the world of photography has only evolved and enabled people to share a bit of their life with the rest of the world.
