Zoya Akhtar ties up with Netflix India to adapt Archie Comics into a musical

Filmmaker Zoya Akhtar is set to collaborate with Netflix for a live-action musical film based on Archie Comics character Archie Andrews. Titled 'The Archies', the show will be set in 1960s India.

if you are wondering who all have been cast in the musical-drama, the makers have not revealed any names yet, but reports say Amitabh Bachchan's grandson Agastya Nanda, Shah Rukh Khan's daughter Suhana and Janhvi Kapoor's sister Khushi Kapoor will be part of the cast.

Zoya Akhtar, known for hits like 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara', 'Dil Dhadakne Do' and 'Gully Boy', will helm the coming-of-age story that will introduce the teenagers of Riverdale to a new generation in India.

The filmmaker previously worked with Netflix when she directed short films for anthology films "Lust Stories" (2018) and "Ghost Stories" (2020).

The new project will be produced by Akhtar and Reema Kagti for Tiger Baby as well as Graphic India.
