12-year-old boy adopts Royal Bengal Tiger on birthday

Gone are the days of regular birthday celebrations, this 12-year-old boy from Hyderabad decided to celebrate his big day in style. Chinmay Siddharth Shah, a student of class 7 adopted a Royal Bengal Tiger, named Sankalp, at the Nehru Zoological Park. He handed over a cheque of ₹25000 to park authorities for the welfare of the tiger for three months. On the same day, a few other children adopted nocturnal animals and small birds from the park. The gesture welcomed by many, is being seen as a step towards conservation of wildlife.
