BCCI President Sourav Ganguly visited the Sharjah cricket stadium on Monday after successfully completing his compulsory week-long quarantine in the UAE. The visit was aimed at checking out the preparations for the Indian Premier League which starts on 19th September. The iconic Sharjah cricket ground will host a total of 12 matches in the tournament. Ganguly was accompanied by IPL Governing Council President Brijesh Patel, former boss Rajiv Shukla, IPL COO Hemang Amin, Treasurer Arun Dhumal and a host of officials. Sharjah has successfully completed a major renovation of the sports facility and is ready to host IPL games keeping in mind the new Covid-19 regulations.
