Russia rules out Navalny's meeting with Putin

Sep 16, 2020 17:54 IST

The Kremlin has ruled out a meeting between Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny and Russian President Vladimir Putin after Navalny recovers from being poisoned with a nerve agent. "We do not see the need for such a meeting, so I believe that such a meeting will not take place," Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Tuesday. Navalny fell ill on a flight from Siberia to Moscow on August 20 and was treated at a hospital in the city of Omsk. Two days later, he was flown to the Charite hospital in Germany where he was kept in an induced coma for more than two weeks.
