A recent study established the link between the usage of oral contraceptives and the increased risk of breast cancer. Know more about it.&nbsp;

Many women across the world use oral contraceptives to avoid unwanted pregnancies. However, a recent study released by the University of Oxford reportedly established the link between the usage of progestogen and the increased risk of breast cancer.&nbsp;
The study was published in PLOS Medicine based on data from 9,498 women who developed breast cancer in the age group of the 20s and 40s.&nbsp; After the usage of oral contraceptives for 5 years it was found that almost 8 in every 100,000 women in the age group of 16 to 20 and 265 in every 100,000 aged between 35 to 39 were found to have developed breast cancer.&nbsp;
Most contraceptive pills contain oestrogen and progestogen, which are responsible for increasing the risk of breast cancer by 20-30 per cent among users.
