The Delhi govt has confirmed that bars will reopen in the national capital from the 9th of September on a trial basis.
Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal has given his go ahead to a proposal by the Kejriwal govt to reopen bars. However, the permission has been given on a trial basis from September 9 to September 30.
These establishments will have to follow Covid-19 guidelines issued by the centre under Unlock 4.0. Liquor-serving establishments will only be permitted to open in non-containment zones. Wearing masks will be mandatory in all bars.
Bars and pubs will only be allowed to operate at 50% seating capacity ensuring social distancing is maintained. The Delhi govt has said establishments found violating guidelines will be sealed immediately.
Bars and restaurants have already opened in states like Goa, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal.
