Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced a renewable energy evacuation plan of ₹20,700 crores for the union territory of Ladakh.
The announcement has come amid protest by environmentalist Sonam Wangchuk over bringing the region under the Sixth Schedule of the Indian Constitution.
The Finance Minister also announced ₹35,000 crores for priority capital investment for energy transition and net zero objectives and energy security.
National Green Hydrogen Mission with an outlay of Rs. 19,700 crores will facilitate the transition to the economy to low carbon intensity, our target is to reach annual production of 5 MMT by 2030, the FM said.
