Mumbai Indians have overtaken CSK once again and this time in sponsorship. The Ambani family-owned Mumbai Indians have signed the biggest sponsorship deal for any team in the 15 year history of IPL with the credit card brand Slice as its principal sponsor in a Rs 100 crore deal.
Slice making a debut in sports sponsorship signed a three-year contract with 5-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians as the primary sponsor taking over from DHL. Prior to Slice, the biggest sponsorship deal was between Chennai Super Kings and TVS Eurogrip for Rs 75 crore over three years.

Meanwhile, the MI players have been actively promoting the brand in the form of catchy tweets on Twitter.
“It’s time to open the innings with our new principal sponsor SLICE, Paltan, let’s give a MI style welcome to the latest member of our #OneFamily #MumbaiIndian,” MI franchise tweeted as Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah and Surya Kumar Yadav tweeted a video welcoming in the new sponsor.
In the past, Idea, Hero, Videocon D2H, and Samsung have been the principal sponsors of the team.
