Life Insurance Corporation(LIC) informed it has garnered a little over Rs 5,627 crore from anchor investors ahead of the LIC IPO opening for retail investors and the fund raising was led primarily by domestic institutions.
LIC IPO's anchor Investors' (AIs) portion (5.92 lakh equity shares) was subscribed at Rs 949 per equity share, the insurer said in a filing to stock exchanges. Details in the circular showed that 71.1% of which was subscribed by domestic mutual funds who look to invest Rs 4000 cr into the LIC IPO. Foreign investors pitched in merely Rs 1627 crore on the eve of India's largest-ever initial public offer(IPO) opening for retail investors.

SBI Equity Hybrid Fund (9.22 per cent), ICICI Prudential Value Discovery Fund (3.91 per cent) and SBI Balanced Advantage Fund (3.64 per cent) have seen the largest chunk of allocation in the anchor book. Also getting a slice of the pie are ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund, HDFC Mutual Fund, Axis Mutual Fund, Kotak Mutual Fund are a few others that have been allocated shares in the anchor investor quota.
