Maruti Suzuki informed the exchanges that the automaker is recalling 166 Dzire Tour S vehicles due to a faulty Airbag Control Unit. The recall however is limited to vehicles manufactured between 6 th August, 2022 to 16th August, 2022.
The car maker alerted customers they suspected that there is a possible defect in Airbag Control Unit, which in rare case might result in malfunctioning during deployment. Maruti requested customers of suspected vehicles are advised not to drive/use the vehicle till the Airbag Control Unit is replaced.
The company has assured they would be reaching out to the owners affected by the recall and replacement would be made free of cost.
The recall comes just under a year after Maruti Suzuki called back over 180,000 cars due to potential electrical defects in what was one of the largest ever product recalls in terms of volume in the Indian passenger vehicle market.
The recall last year involved the the petrol variants of Ciaz, Ertiga, Vitara Brezza, S-Cross and XL6 manufactured between 4th May 2018 to 27th October 2020
