The BJP has decided to contest the assembly elections in Manipur on its own and has announced candidates for all 60 seats.
In 2017, the BJP had fallen short of majority after winning 21 seats and formed government with the help of smaller parties and independent MLAs.
While Chief Minister N Biren Singh will contest from his traditional seat in Heingang, at least 10 former Congress leaders among 16 MLAs who joined the BJP have got tickets.
Among the former Congress leaders is Govindas Konthoujam who was the chief of party's Manipur unit.
