It’s counting day for Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh. While the big battle is for government formation there are several smaller ones also playing out.
In Gujarat, while BJP is looking to achieve the rare feat of beating a 27-year anti-incumbency, AAP is hoping that it will be able to put up a decent show on the back of its aggressive campaigning. Congress more or less was missing throughout the campaigning with its focus on more on Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’.
Going by Himachal Pradesh’s almost 40-year-old trend of voting out the incumbent government, it is Congress’ turns to take the reigns of the hill state this time but BJP by now has made a habit of bucking such trends by getting re-elected in Uttar Pradesh, Goa, Assam, and Uttarakhand
