Goa Election 2022: A day after the exit polls predicted a hung Assembly in Goa, Congress is focusing on keeping its flock together and plans to shift all its candidates to a resort, news agency PTI reported.

The Congress, whose strength in the outgoing Assembly reduced from 17 to just two over the last five years, with some of its MLAs switching over to the BJP, is leaving no stone unturned to keep the saffron party from poaching its leaders.

According to reports, all Congress candidates will be staying in a resort in North Goa till Thursday, the day when votes will be counted.  The Congress party has asked all its winning candidates to arrive at the party office after the results.

Elections to the 40-member Goa Assembly were held on February 14 and the counting of votes is scheduled for March 10.

An average of the exit polls for Goa gives 16 seats to BJP, 15 to Congress, 3 to AAP, 4 to TMC, and 2 to others.
