The Aam Aadmi Party workers in the national capital staged a protest campaign named 'Jail Ka Jawab Vote Se' on Saturday morning against the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister and party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal in connection with the excise policy case.

While staging a protest outside Laxmi Nagar Metro station, AAP East Delhi Lok Sabha candidate Kuldeep Kumar said that the public in Delhi is angry and they will teach the Bharatiya Janata Party a lesson on May 25 (Lok Sabha elections in Delhi).

"BJP has conspired to put a popular Chief Minister behind bars in a fake case. The people of Delhi will teach BJP a lesson on May 25. The public in Delhi is angry over Arvind Kejriwal's arrest," Kuldeep Kumar told ANI.

Arvind Kejriwal was arrested on March 21 by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a money-laundering case related to the Delhi government's now-scrapped excise policy. Since April 1, he has been lodged in Tihar Jail.

Sunita Kejriwal, the wife of Delhi Chief Minister will hold a roadshow in East Delhi Lok Sabha constituency on Saturday, followed by another in West Delhi on April 28.

"Sunita ji will hold a roadshow in East Delhi Lok Sabha and seek blessings for Arvind Kejriwal from the people of East Delhi. On April 28, Sunita Kejriwal ji will conduct a roadshow in West Delhi Lok Sabha, seeking blessings from the people of West Delhi for Arvind Kejriwal," Delhi Minister Atishi said on Friday.

Atishi attributed Arvind Kejriwal's arrest to a political strategy by the BJP-led central government.

"The BJP-led central government and its political weapon, the Enforcement Directorate (ED), arrested Arvind Kejriwal after the announcement of the Lok Sabha elections to prevent him from campaigning during the Lok Sabha elections. However, their move backfired on them. The people of Delhi, Punjab, and across the country are opposing Arvind Kejriwal ji's arrest, and they will respond to this arrest by voting for AAP," she said.
