BJP national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi has criticised the Congress manifesto for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, stating that it contains pictures from New York and "Rahul Gandhi's favourite destination, Thailand".

On April 5, the Congress released its manifesto for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

"Under the environment section, a picture from Rahul Gandhi's favourite destination, Thailand, has been put. Who is putting all this in their manifesto?," Trivedi said.

Trivedi in an address, questioned the source of certain images featured in the Congress manifesto.

“There is a picture of water management in the Congress manifesto. This picture is of the Buffalo River in New York state. Till now they have not been able to find out who was tweeting from their Social Media chairperson’s Twitter, but who sent them this picture? Under the Environment section, a picture from Rahul Gandhi’s favoured destination, Thailand has been put. Who is putting all this in their manifesto?” the BJP leader said.

Congress in their manifesto emphasised ‘Paanch Nyay’ or five pillars of justice, including ‘Yuva Nyay’, ‘Naari Nyay’, ‘Kisaan Nyay’, ‘Shramik Nyay’ and ‘Hissedari Nyay’ as well as the guarantees made by it to the people as part of its poll promises for 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The grand old party also promised the right to apprenticeship, a legal guarantee for MSP, and passing a constitutional amendment to raise the 50 per cent cap on reservations for SCs, STs and OBCs in its election manifesto.

“They have called the manifesto Nyay Patra after doing injustice to all sections of the country for all these years,” Sudhanshu Trivedi further said.

BJP leader Amit Malviya took a dig at Rahul Gandhi’s foreign trips saying “looks like the Congress forgot that it is preparing a manifesto for India and not putting together a holiday itinerary for Rahul Gandhi!”

“What else explains using a picture of Thailand under the Environment section? It shouldn’t be a surprise if Rahul Gandhi dashes off to Thailand, for yet another holiday, soon after the election,” Malviya wrote in an X post.
