The IPL fever has reached the Election Commission of India, with star cricketers from the Royal Challengers Bengaluru franchise urging people to vote. Players like Dinesh Karthik, Anuj Rawat and Rajat Patidar used cricket terminology to dig into India’s election season.

The second half of the IPL 2024 schedule remained unreleased for a while as organisers waited for the Election Commission to announce dates for the Lok Sabha polls.

Other players featured in the collaboration video included Mahipal Lomror, Rajan Kumar, Suyash Prabhudessai, Yash Dayal, Himanshu Sharma, Swapnil Singh and Manoj Bhandage. RCB heavyweights like Virat Kohli, Faf Du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell were absent.

The Election Commission announced the dates for the Lok Sabha polls in March. The 7-phase polls will begin on April 19 and end on June 1, 2024. The results will be announced on June 4.

Meanwhile, the 74-game tournament is scheduled to end on May 26, days before the election’s final phase starts.
