Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav on Monday said that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was 'hijacked' by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and he switched sides.
During an address in Saran, Bihar, Tejashwi Yadav said, "Our CM was hijacked. Even though our uncle switched sides, we have always respected him and will continue to do so. He is a father figure who we will respect, even in the time to come."
Tejashwi Yadav's remark came after Nitish Kumar stirred up a new controversy on Sunday, when he took a swipe at his former ally Lalu Yadav and his 'many children'.
Nitish Kumar was addressing an election rally in Katihar. Kumar said, "Some people claim every post these days. They appointed their wives when they were removed. Now, it is their children."
"Ab paida to bahut kar diya. Itna zyaada paida karna chahiye kisi ko, baal baccha? (He has many children. Should anybody beget so many children?)"
