Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar, in an interview with The Indian Express, addressed BJP leader Manoj Tiwari's 'tukde-tukde gang' jibe against him. The former president of the JNU Students' Union said that 'jhooth ko counter nahin karna hai (lies need not be countered).

He further said, "In fact, the question is for them to answer. All agencies – the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Enforcement Directorate (ED) – are under them. The Prime Minister and Home Minister are theirs. Who is stopping them (from arresting me), when they can put an elected CM in jail without a shred of evidence?"

"Even the Union Home Ministry has said it has no information about the ‘tukde tukde gang’. It is political propaganda, which means they do not have a real agenda," Kumar added.
