Sharad Pawar's NCP and Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena put up a strong showing in Maharashtra, outperforming their breakaway factions.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde-led party which was dubbed as the 'real' Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar's faction that was called the 'real' NCP suffered major losses at the hands of Maha Vikas Aghadi, which also comprises Congress.
While Uddhav's Shiv Sena led on 10 seats as opposed to Shinde Sena's 6, Sharad's NCP was ahead on 7 seats as compared to his nephew Ajit's party's tally of 1.
Overall, the INDIA bloc led on 28 seats, while NDA on 19.
