Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh's voter turnout at over 25% till 11 am

As of 11 am, voter turnout in the first phase of Lok Sabha polls in Tamil Nadu was at 27.2%, Uttar Pradesh at 25.20%, Uttarakhand at 24.83%, and 33.63 % in West Bengal's 3 seats.

Voting began in more than a hundred seats spread across 21 states and Union Territories.

Eight states, including six in the Northeast, and three Union Territories are going to polls in a single phase - Tamil Nadu (39), Uttarakhand (5), Meghalaya (2), Arunachal Pradesh (2), Manipur (2), Mizoram (1), Nagaland (1), Sikkim (1), Puducherry (1), Andaman and Nicobar Islands (1) and Lakshadweep (1).

Elections are also being held in 12 constituencies in Rajasthan, eight in Uttar Pradesh, six in Madhya Pradesh, five in Maharashtra, five in Assam, four in Bihar, three in West Bengal, and one seat each in Chhattisgarh, Tripura, and Jammu and Kashmir.

Along with these Lok Sabha seats, elections are also being held for the Assemblies of Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim.

Results will be declared after all seven phases on June 4.
