The Union Cabinet on Wednesday recommended the dissolution of 17th Lok Sabha.

The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence.

It was the last meeting of Modi 2.0's cabinet and council of ministers. The meeting comes a day after the Lok Sabha election results were declared.

The BJP on its own got 240 seats and the NDA a clear majority in the 543-member house.

Modi is reportedly expected to take oath as the PM for the third time on June 8.
