Former allies BJP and NPP have reunited to form government in Meghalaya after election results threw up a hung assembly in the state. NPP chief Conrad Sangma called up Home Minister Amit Shah and sought support to form govt after emerging as the single largest party with 26 seats, just short of the majority mark of 31. The two parties had formed the government in Meghalaya in 2018 but decided to part ways just before the 2023 state polls.
