Amid counting of votes for Madhya Pradesh elections, CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan paid tributes to the victims of 1984 Bhopal gas tragedy.

Chouhan said, "Even today, the incident that took place on the intervening night of December 2 and 3 (1984), scares us. Thousands of our brothers and sisters, including children, lost their lives. The scenes from Bhopal that day cannot be forgotten. I pay my tributes to all those who lost their lives. No city should suffer what Bhopal did. Such a tragedy should never get repeated. To make sure of this, there should be a balance between development and the environment. I pay my tributes to the victims of this tragedy."
