A Muslim woman was beaten by her in-laws after she voted for the BJP in the recently held assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh. On Saturday, chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan met Sameena Bi at his official residence.
Chouhan assured her of safety and security after she voiced concerns about the well-being of her two children - a son and a daughter - who had accompanied her to meet the chief minister.
Sameena Bi shared that her brother-in-law had attacked her for supporting the BJP in the election.
"My brother-in-law Javed attacked me when he came to know I voted for the BJP. He asked why did I vote for brother Shivraj Singh Chouhan's party," she said.
In response, the Chief Minister reassured Sameena Bi and promised to safeguard her and her children. She expressed gratitude for the positive meeting, stating that Chouhan emphasised the importance of exercising the right to vote freely as granted by the Constitution.
Sameena Bi affirmed her support for the BJP, citing her belief in Chief Minister Chouhan's integrity. She commended him for his dedication to doing the right thing, which she said influenced her voting decision in favour of the BJP.
